Frequently Asked Questions

What devices are supported?

Virtual rooms work on any modern browser — desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. For the most immersive experience, use a VR headset (Oculus Quest, HTC Vive) or view in full-screen on a large display.

What is included in free rooms?

Free rooms provide the full 360° gallery walkthrough with informational text labels on key artefacts. Premium rooms add curator audio narration, high-resolution artefact zoom, 3D models, and downloadable educational guides.

How do I access premium rooms?

You can purchase access to individual rooms, buy an Explorer Pass for 30-day access to all premium rooms, or join as an annual member. Payments are processed securely via Pesapal (mobile money, Visa, Mastercard).

Can I use virtual rooms for teaching?

Yes. Our virtual rooms are designed for both individual and classroom use. Teachers can project rooms on a shared screen, and we offer downloadable lesson plans linked to each room. Contact our education team for group access pricing.

How often are new rooms added?

We release new virtual rooms quarterly as our digitisation programme expands. Annual members and Explorer Pass holders get early access to new rooms before public release.

What internet speed do I need?

Virtual rooms load progressively and work on connections as low as 3G. For the best experience with high-resolution imagery, we recommend at least 5 Mbps.
