EQUATOR MONUMENTS

From the National Museums and Monuments Policy, 2015:

The Equator Monuments are listed among the gazetted national cultural sites and monuments of Uganda, alongside the Independence Monument, the City Square, and the Source of the Nile.

These monuments mark the crossing of the Equator through Uganda. They serve as significant tourism attractions and geographical landmarks.

Under the Museums and Monuments Act, 2023, the Department of Museums and Monuments shall protect and preserve public monuments and memorials in accordance with the Act.
