Spiked Wheel Trap
This is a trap of great antiquity, originating in Asia, known in early Egypt, Greece & Rome &found all down the Nile to uganda. The spiked wheel is buried just below the surface on a game path with a noose attached to a log over to. the spikes cause the animal to kick & pull tight the tethering rope, after which it can only hobble slowly until the hunter activities
Mallet to Castrate Calves, Sheep, Goat and Donkeys [karamojong]
Mallet Enyudu Wooden; most woods used. Carved to form cutting edge; used to castrate sheep, goats, calves and donkeys. Animal is laid on back, testicles localized within scrotum by two sticks and then pounded. Calves castrated after about 18 months and goats and rams after 12 months

In 1876, Fredrick Ulmer Ltd of London supplied this Albion hand proofing printing press to the church missionary society as part of equipment for its pioneer expedition to uganda. It was tied into loads which were carried by head from Zanzibar to the south end of l. Victoria. This printing press is displayed through the kindness of the Church of Uganda and the Church Missionary Society. E54.56
