Archaeological & Palaeontology Collection

Uganda's history through early hominid fossils from Napak and Moroto, stone tools spanning millions of years, and Iron Age artefacts tracing human civilisation in the Great Lakes region.

Ethnology Wing

Ethnology & Cultural Heritage

Over 200 traditional instruments from more than 30 ethnic groups, royal drums of Buganda, adungu harps of the Acholi, textiles, regalia, crafts and ceremonial objects.

Natural History Collection

Uganda's remarkable biodiversity through expertly preserved specimens — towering elephant skeletons, the rare mountain gorilla exhibit, and the famous Ugandan kob diorama.

Located on Kira Road, off Bombo Road, near Wandegeya. 10 minutes from Kampala city centre.

🚌 Matatu Board any Bwaise-bound matatu from the city centre and alight at Wandegeya stage.
🚕 Taxi/Boda Tell your driver "Uganda Museum, Kira Road" — a well-known landmark.
🚗 Private Car Free parking available on the museum compound. Enter via the main gate on Kira Road.
