The Department of Museums and Monuments, under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities of the Republic of Uganda, operates this website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

We may collect personal information you voluntarily provide when submitting feedback, registering for events, booking tours, applying for research access, or subscribing to our newsletter. This includes your name, email, phone number, institution, and enquiry content. We also collect anonymous usage data through standard web server logs and Google Analytics.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to respond to enquiries, process bookings and registrations, send newsletters (if subscribed), improve our website, monitor performance and security, and generate anonymised visitor statistics.

Data Security

All personal data is stored on secure servers within Uganda. We use SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission and limit access to authorised personnel only.

Data Retention

Enquiries and feedback are retained for 2 years. Newsletter subscriptions until unsubscribed. Event booking records for 3 years. Research applications for 5 years. After retention periods, data is securely deleted.

Third-Party Services

We use Google Analytics, Google Fonts, Yoast SEO, and WP Mail SMTP (routed through government email relay). These services have their own privacy policies.

Your Rights
